The identities of two men whose bodies were discovered at a remote property in Lancaster, California, have been released by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
The deceased were identified as 46-year-old Edward Perez and 61-year-old Ricky Phillips. According to sources cited by ABC7, both men had previously been reported missing.
Their remains were discovered buried at a property near 50th Street East and Avenue F, where homicide detectives continued investigating the scene this week.
Additional detectives were seen at the remote Lancaster property as investigators worked to gather evidence surrounding the deaths. AIR7 footage showed homicide investigators examining portions of the property, while cadaver dogs were also brought in as part of the search.
The investigation reportedly began as a missing persons case before authorities discovered the buried remains. Investigators have not publicly disclosed how Perez and Phillips died or how long their remains may have been at the property.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has also not released details regarding the condition of the remains or provided information about a possible motive.
