A man has suffered multiple wounds following a reported stabbing in Plymouth on Tuesday afternoon, October 6, with police confirming that three people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Devon and Cornwall Police said officers were called at around 12:55 p.m. following a report of a stabbing at a property on Durham Avenue. One man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Two men and a woman were arrested and taken into police custody. Police later confirmed that the arrests, made at a location in the Mutley area, were on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, under Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act.
The individuals involved are believed to have been known to one another, according to police. Officers are maintaining an open mind regarding the motive as the investigation continues.
Police said officers are expected to remain at both locations for some time while examinations and other investigative work are carried out. A scene guard remains in place.
Authorities have also said there is not believed to be a wider risk to the public in connection with the incident.
