Whitney Capps Death, Georgia Obituary – Christian Author and Bible Teacher Dies After Cancer Battle

Christian author, Bible teacher and speaker Whitney Capps has died following a yearslong battle with cancer, leaving her husband, four sons, family, friends and a wide community of readers and believers mourning her loss.

Her husband, Chad Capps, announced her passing in a message shared with supporters, saying Whitney died peacefully at approximately 4:25 a.m. He described the moment as peaceful while expressing the family’s deep grief and their faith that she was now free from pain.

Whitney had publicly shared her experience living with cancer, including the challenges and uncertainty that came with her illness. Her journey became an important part of the testimony she shared through her writing, teaching and ministry.

Whitney was known for her work as a Christian author, national speaker and Bible teacher. She was associated with Proverbs 31 Ministries and contributed to the First 5 Bible app. She also developed her own teaching work through Simple Seminary.

Her published work included Sick of Me, We Over Me and The Melody of Grace, and she cohosted the Theology and Other Fun Stuff podcast. Through her ministry, she sought to help women understand Scripture and apply biblical teaching to everyday life.

Beyond her public work, Whitney was a wife and mother to four sons, Cooper, Dylan, Ryder and Tate, whom she and Chad raised outside Atlanta.

Throughout her cancer journey, Whitney spoke openly about suffering, faith and the difficulty of living with uncertainty. Her willingness to share those experiences brought encouragement to many people who followed her ministry and faced their own difficult circumstances.

Chad’s announcement reflected both the family’s heartbreak and their Christian faith. He said they were “crushed,” while expressing comfort in believing Whitney was now rejoicing and free from pain.

The family announced that a funeral was anticipated for Saturday, October 10, 2026, with visitation planned for Friday evening and again Saturday before the service. Final arrangements were expected to be shared once confirmed.

Whitney Capps leaves behind a legacy centered on faith, family, teaching and encouragement. Her books, Bible teaching and personal testimony touched many people, while her openness about cancer gave others a voice for navigating suffering and uncertainty.

Her husband, children, family, friends and the many people who followed her ministry are now mourning her passing and remembering the life and faith she shared with others.
