Lily Slattery Accident Death, Obituary – Drum, Knock, Co. Mayo Community Mourns Tragic Loss

DRUM, KNOCK, COUNTY MAYO, IRELAND — Family, friends and the wider community are mourning the heartbreaking death of Lily Slattery, who passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026.

Lily is remembered as a beautiful and talented young woman whose life was taken too soon. Tributes have been shared by those who knew her, including the AIRC Western Region, which offered its sincere and deepest condolences to Lily’s heartbroken family and friends.

Lily was deeply and always loved by her parents, Gillian and Christy, and her sisters, Morgan-Mai and Ruth-Elle. She will also be sadly missed by her grandparents, Gabriel Slattery, John and Mary Byrne, as well as her aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many friends.

She was predeceased by her grandmother, Phil Slattery, and her uncle, Barry Byrne.

News of Lily’s death has brought profound sorrow to those who knew and loved her. As family and friends come together to remember her life, they are holding close the memories of a young woman who was cherished by so many.

Lily will repose at the Marian Funeral Home in Knock on Thursday evening, October 8, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Her funeral will arrive at St John the Baptist Church, Knock, on Friday morning for Mass at 10:30 a.m., followed by burial in Knock Cemetery.

The family has requested that the house remain private during this difficult time. Lily’s funeral Mass will also be available to view online for those unable to attend in person.

As condolences continue to be offered, Lily’s family, friends and community are remembering her with love and affection. Her passing has left a deep void, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
