A family in Philadelphia is urgently asking for the public’s help locating 17-year-old Cecil Wright, who was reported missing after he was last seen Thursday night in Southwest Philadelphia.
Cecil was last known to be in the area of 58th Street and Warrington Avenue. His family is extremely concerned and is asking residents across Philadelphia and surrounding communities to remain alert and share information about his disappearance.
Cecil is described as approximately 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. At the time he was last seen, he was reportedly wearing gray pants, a white shirt and blue canvas shoes.
His family has also shared that Cecil is autistic and may become overwhelmed in unfamiliar or stressful situations. Anyone who encounters him is asked to approach calmly and avoid actions that could frighten or overwhelm him.
The family is specifically asking people not to restrict their search to Southwest Philadelphia. According to the family, Cecil previously traveled approximately 20 miles from the location where he had last been seen, raising concern that he could be outside the immediate neighborhood.
Anyone who sees Cecil or has information that could help authorities locate him is urged to contact 911 for an immediate sighting or call Philadelphia Police at 215-686-3013. Anonymous information can also be provided through the Philadelphia Police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
The family is asking people throughout Philadelphia and nearby areas to share Cecil’s information widely. They hope that increased public awareness will help someone recognize him and provide authorities with information about his whereabouts.
Cecil’s loved ones are asking the community to continue looking out for him and to share any credible information with police.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact authorities rather than attempting to conduct a confrontation or independent search. The family’s priority is bringing Cecil home safely.
